James Hardie: Renowned for their fiber cement building products, count on James Hardie when it comes to durability. Their cladding is resistant to both weather and fading and can be matched perfectly to fit alongside an existing finish.
Simpson Strong-Tie: More durable than those of its competitors, the company produces easy-to-install concealed beam ties in addition to wood connectors, component systems, and a full array of anchors and tie down solutions.
OZCO: A well-known provider of high-quality anchors, ties, connectors, and other hardware products, OZCO also provides us with world-class stain and sealer products. These ensure that our timber remains well-protected against Houston’s inclement weather.
Anthony Power Beams: These superior-quality glued laminated beams benefit from the strictest quality control in the industry, offering robust structural integrity and dimensional stability.
Ceilings
For ceiling finishes, we offer long-lasting durable products from the more cost-effective to products such as Synergy Wood Products that come pre-finished. The two Synergy colors used most often are Colonial and Auburn—both of which produce an exquisite look and feel.
Full Brick Columns
A variety of setups are made available. They include:
- 1/3 brick column
- Natural Stackable Stone Columns (full or ⅓)
- Travertine Columns (full or ⅓)
For ⅓ Travertine Columns, a Travertine coping cap is required. Additionally, a separate metal frame will be needed around the column for the stone to be veneered to. This makes the installation slightly more time intensive and expensive than other options offered.
Houston Roof Additions: Posts and Beams
When it comes to construction, all of our beams are certified to meet or exceed local and state codes. We use 5/8 CDX plywood over OSB with all of our nails hot-dip galvanized and made in the USA. For decks and roofs, each post also undergoes two coats of roofing tar for good measure.
As a point of reference, we include beaded pine in our quotes for post finish but other materials are available for consideration. See the list of options below, in order from cheapest to most expensive:
